The Hundreds X Jackson Pollock: A Collab Splattered with Epic Proportions
Posted on 05 July 2017
The Hundreds X Jackson Pollock collaboration is here and it's just as dope as we imagined.
Behind the Collab:
Jackson Pollock: An icon with considerable fame and notoriety. An American painter known for his unique style of drip painting. An artist know for spearheading the abstract expressionist movement.
The Hundreds: Part Classic Californian Streetwear brand part Global Street Culture pushers. Founded by Bobby Kim (Bobby Hundreds) and Ben Shenassafar (Ben Hundreds) in 2003, the LA-based company highlights their signature perspective on street subculture, with an emphasis on the people over product. The Hundreds in known for telling their story through collaborations with up-and-coming and established brands.
Jackson Pollock Studio partnered with The Hundreds. The result; an array of apparel and accessories boasting the colorful Pollock aesthetic. Think Hundreds Adam logo melding with Pollock's signature splatter. The featured design is a detail of Pollock's paint-splattered studio floor. What we'll see in the collection; a structured canvas jacket, shorts, tees, a strap back cap, a skateboard deck, a molded ceramic ashtray. My personal favorite- a chair produced in an additional collaborative effort with Modernica. The piece was created using a cast fiberglass construction and finished with black powder coated metal legs. Furniture with a dual purpose; functionality and art.
A portion of the proceeds supports the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center.
The collection is set to launch tomorrow (Friday - 7.7.17) at NOON EST.
